Join Reflections for a historic evening with trailblazing electronic music composer Suzanne Ciani. We’re thrilled to present her in NYC at the stunning St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church, a neogothic cathedral nestled in the heart of scenic Brooklyn Heights.
For her Out of the Ocean Tour, Suzanne weaves together a set of ecstatic noise and transcendent ambient passages, performed as a live improvisation on her Buchla 200e modular synth. We’ll pair her music with a visionary light show, immersing ourselves in an unforgettable experience.

Suzanne Ciani

As fearlessly innovative as she is deeply romantic, Suzanne Ciani has been at the creative forefront of electronic music and technology for over 50 years.

She’s a five-time Grammy-nominated composer with over 20 solo albums, including The Velocity of Love, Flowers of Evil, and her landmark LIVE Quadraphonic, which restarted her Buchla modular performances. In the 1980s, her commercial production company, Ciani-Musica, Inc., was the leader in the field of sound design and TV spot scoring. She provided the voice and sounds for Bally's groundbreaking "Xenon" pinball machine, created Coca-Cola’s pop-and-pour sound, and carved out a niche as one of the most creatively successful female composers in the world. A Life in Waves, a documentary about Ciani’s life and work, debuted at SXSW in 2017.

Ciani is a graduate of Wellesley College and holds a Masters in Music Composition from the University of California, Berkeley.

St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church

An important example of Gothic Revival architecture in America, the richly ornamented church is notable for its elaborately vaulted roof and extensive suite of stained glass windows by William Jay Bolton. Construction of the church began in 1844 on the highest point in Brooklyn Heights. Built by Brooklyn paper manufacturer Edgar Bartow, he purchased the site’s eight lots from the nearby estate of Hezekiah B. Pierrepont. The church’s official opening was on April 25, 1847. The building is an ADA accessible space.
